New Patients

Your first visit, step by step

We know a new dental office can feel uncertain. Here's exactly what to expect - calmly and clearly - so there are no surprises.

What to expect

A visit built around understanding you

Your first visit is less about treatment and more about getting to know you and your dental health. Here's how it typically goes.

Welcome forms

If you haven't completed them ahead of time, we'll get your information and health history on file.

Health history

We'll review your medical and dental history so we understand the full picture before we begin.

Meeting the team

You'll meet the people who'll be caring for you. Familiar faces matter - we want you to feel comfortable.

Discussing your concerns

Tell us what's bothering you, what you're hoping for, and anything that makes you nervous. We listen first.

Examination

A thorough exam helps us understand your current dental health and any areas that may need attention.

Images, if appropriate

When clinically appropriate, we may take X-rays or other images. We'll explain why and what they show.

Findings & options

We'll discuss what we found, what it means, and your options - in plain language, with no pressure to decide on the spot.

Financial expectations

Where applicable, we'll talk through costs and your estimated responsibility before any treatment.

Good to know

Will I get a cleaning at my first visit?

Not always. Whether a cleaning happens at your first visit depends on your individual needs, what we find during your exam, and how the appointment is scheduled. We'll let you know what makes sense for you and plan from there - we won't rush into anything without explaining it first.

Have dental anxiety? Tell us.

If you're nervous, the most helpful thing you can do is let us know. We'll adjust how we communicate and move at a pace that feels right to you.
